The Delta State Blues Band

Singin' the Blues in the Land Where it all Began....

The DSU Blues Band is supported in part by a grant from the Hearin Foundation, and has received a substantial equipment grant from Peavey Electronics.  It is available for performances throughout the State of Mississippi and beyond.  For information contact the Delta Center for Culture and Learning or Barry Bays.

	Barry Bays (on bass) directs the band.  Barry teaches guitar at DSU and has an impressive resume that includes performances with many Blues, Jazz, and Classical groups and appearances on several CDs.
The Band regularly plays with professional Bluesmen.  Terry "Big T" Williams not only joins the Band, but meets with them often during practice sessions.  Big T trained under Johnny Billington and Big Jack Johnson, and traveled with Sam Carr and The Jelly Roll Kings.

The DSU Blues Band is part of the Delta Center for Culture and Learning.  Small scholarships are available for qualified students.  The band supports these scholarships through their performances.
