Leslie Griffin, Dean of the College of Education at Delta State University, has extensive experience in working with P-16 education in the Mississippi Delta. Upon earning an Ed.D. from the University of Mississippi in curriculum and instruction, she embarked on a higher education career that has included work at both Mississippi Valley State University and Delta State University. Her primary research and study interests focus on how to prepare teachers to make P-12 curricula the most engaging possible for students, whether in the Mississippi Delta or beyond its geographical boundaries. Her studies have included curriculum projects focused on historical and landmark events related to the Delta area (e.g., Civil Rights, Mississippi Delta Blues) and mediums for conveying such experiences, such as oral history.
